We perform Private Well Inspections and take water samples for laboratory analysis in Northeast Ohio including Cuyahoga, Geauga, Medina, Summit, Stark, Portage and Wayne Counties.
Private water systems (PWS) provide drinking water and are regulated under Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) Chapter 3701-28 through Ohio’s local health districts. PWS can include water wells, rainwater cisterns, springs, hauled water storage tanks, and ponds used for drinking water.
What’s included during a Private Well Inspection?
- Pull available Well Logs;
- Evaluate visible component of system;
- Conduct a flow test;
- Collect and deliver water samples to an Ohio EPA Certified Laboratory;
(Standard test includes Total Coliform & E.Coli; additional water tests upon request) - Private Well Inspection Report
Is the water safe to drink?
Acceptable drinking water sample limits:
- Total Coliform: 4.0 CFU/100mL or 4.2 MPN/100mL
- E. coli: None
- Lead: 15.0 ug/L
- Nitrate: 10.0 mg/L
- Nitrite: 1.0 mg/L
- Arsenic 15.0 ug/L
