Septic Systems or Sewage Treatment Systems (STS) are regulated under Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3701-29 which was updated and became effective on Jan. 1, 2015. Local County Health Districts may adopt more stringent rules and/or standards and handle permitting, inspections and enforcement of these regulations.
